Who can start an IO Global Group?
IO Global is an exciting new opportunity for intelligent optimists around the world to meet and network with each other. This is a great way to meet other intellectuals, discuss progress in science and technology and how we can tackle the challenges that face humanity today. The community is open to everyone who believes that the future is what we make of it.
What do I have to do?
If you would like to lead an IO Global group in your city, apply here. Community leaders will be expected to oversee a Facebook group for intelligent optimists in their cities​. If they so wish they may also organise meet-ups ​and create opportunities for fellow optimists to connect with each other. ​
What help will I get?
Once your application is approved you will receive a licence from the Intelligent Optimism outreach team. The licence allows you to set up an IO Global Facebook Group for your city. With this licence, you may also run workshops, presentations, video-screenings, thinktanks and meet-ups on the theme of Intelligent Optimism - if you so wish. You will receive a resource pack with banners, posters, badges, memes, and other artwork relevant to your city to help you get you started. After that, you're on your own. There will be no supervision by the Intelligent Optimism team. How you wish to take your movement forward is entirely up to you.
